DOT Exams

Overview

If you are a driver now or aspire to drive in the future, DOT Physicals will be a regular and necessary part of your career. Maintaining a good health record carries just as much importance as possessing a CDL license, and not having one can lead to suspension.

At WellQuest, DOT Physicals are performed on a daily basis by multiple providers, and in general are fairly easy to complete. As a result, we can provide quick scheduling and fast results so that you can get back on the road.

What to Expect

PHYSICAL AND NEUROLOGICAL TEST - An exam, from head to toe, to check every organ, muscle and bone to detect any condition that might disqualify someone from certification.

BLOOD PRESSURE AND URINALYSIS - To receive the standard two-year health certification, you must have a tested blood pressure of less than 140/90. For a one-year health certification, you must have a tested blood between 140/90 - 149/99. Anything higher than this may be up for review and will limit your ability to maintain certification. A urinalysis will test for abnormalities in blood sugar, ketones, proteins, and white or red blood cells.

REVIEW OF MEDICAL HISTORY - At WellQuest DOT Physicals, you will be required to provide a 5-year medical history. This includes any injuries, surgeries or illnesses that you have experienced over that duration, as well as any medications that you take regularly and your habits concerning smoking, recreational drugs and alcohol.

2. Employer information

Are preventative services covered by my insurance policy?

The amount of preventive & wellness coverage you have depends entirely on your specific insurance policy. To find the extent of that coverage, contact your HR department.
