Exclusive Biometric Skin Analysis

Exclusive to WellQuest in Northwest Arkansas is Skinprint, a company rooted in clinical skin research. Beginning with the Biometric Skinprint Unit, the certified Skinprint specialist takes ultraviolet photos revealing underlying oxidation damage, bacterial presence and different pigmentation patterns and their depths.

Ultrasound pictures are taken allowing actual viewing of the collagen and elastin in the dermal tissue. Finally, six different biometric measurements are taken measuring the skin’s elasticity, PH, hydration, barrier function, pigmentation and redness, and sebum (oil) production.

Collagen and Anti Aging

Collagen is a protein that gives our skin its structure and appearance of smoothness and youth. It works like netting that holds skin cells together and is continually produced in the body. However, as we age, the production of Collagen inevitably slows down.

As the production of Collagen decreases, the netting begins to break and the skin is the first area that is affected visually. This is usually the first outward sign of aging as wrinkles begin to appear.

Knowing the exact areas where collagen has weakened, allows the aesthetician to target those areas with specific treatment, preventing further breakdown and actually helping the body to increase the production of new collagen. The result is improvement with fine lines and wrinkles reflecting a smoother, vibrant skin.
